Who We Are
Life Center is a Christian, non-profit organization dedicated to serving families on the west side of the city of Rockford, IL. Life Center is an out reach of Faith Center ministries International. The ministry was established in 2001 and has been serving low-income families ever since.
Our Mission
Our mission is to assist families find and fulfill their God given purpose for their lives. Many of the families are living in urban environments plagued by violence, poverty, drugs, crime, and hopelessness. We offer programs designed to prevent people who are growing up in unfavorable settings from becoming products of their environments.
What We Do
We look for Families who are wanting a hand up not a hand out. People that are ready for change. We give a few basic essentials to the families with a simple requirement they must fulfill before returning for further assistance. As the families fulfill their requirements we give a little more assistance. Through this process we are given the opportunity to build trusting relationships. As we see someone really trying to change we take the limits off and do whatever is needed within our means to assist them.
How We Determine Success At Life Center
We consider a person or family that is going through the ministry to have reached success when we can say they are living life to its fullest. In John 10:10 “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all it’s fullness.” When we work with someone who feels hopeless and helpless, and then meet them six months later, and they have a personal relationship with Jesus, and are fulfilling their purpose in life, we consider that person a success.
Why You Should Support This Ministry
Life Center is very unique in the city of Rockford. Support for this ministry is provided by private and corporate donations only. We do not receive and have never received government funding for our programs as it places restrictions on our ability to present the whole gospel of Jesus Christ.
Every service and class we offer is free to the families we serve. All we ask of the people is that they take advantage of the opportunity to get ahead in life.
